Day 24 - Monday 10th May - NYC/AZ
Another Travel day for us with another early morning start and off to another destination. We were getting out of the hustle and bustle that we had experienced in Washington and New York for the quieter desert. We had, let us say, an interesting taxi ride out to the airport that left us both feeling a little bit seedy.
We flew into Phoenix, Arizona and headed out to the car rental company only to find that they didn’t have any of the cars that we had booked. We were lucky enough that one turned up after not too long. We headed out of the airport and did a quick hello and goodbye to Phoenix and headed up the highway to Sedona.
After about 2 hours of Spanky driving (Note: Spanky is doing all the driving as she is 25yrs old where as Bubbles is still only 24yrs old, so it would have cost more each day we rent a car if we wanted him to drive), with a pit stop for some food, we arrived in Sedona. This place had to have some the most breathtaking scenery that we have seen. The pictures that we took don’t do it justice.
We checked into the Hyatt and were informed that we were in the new section of the place which had rooms about 3 months old. The view off our balcony was great, we could see to the East, South and West.
We went and did our usual shop and then grabbed some take away Chinese food for dinner.
